(July 3, 2021) CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Chesterfield Fire and EMS is sad to report that Firefighter Recruit Tyvaughn Eldridge, 26 of Richmond, Virginia passed away at 0643 this morning after suffering a medical emergency during daily physical training on July 1, 2021. He was surrounded by family and members of Chesterfield Fire and EMS. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss and our sincere condolences go out to Firefighter Eldridge’s family and friends. This is a tragic loss of an amazing young man who made the commitment to serve his community. Firefighter Tyvaughn Eldridge will always be Chesterfield Fire and EMS family. We are all mourning this weekend, so we ask that privacy be provided to the family and the members of Chesterfield Fire and EMS until more details can be released.
